All American 4th- R/C Style

On July 4th, 2000, several members of the Tri-City Radio Control Modelers traveled to Washtucna, WA to participate in Washtucna's All American 4th of July celebration.  Quickly, the became town celebrities, and were even provided a float for the town parade.

The TCRCM crew provided both a substantial static display, plus an aerial show at the Washtucna football stadium.

Frank Hirsch and Boyd Petty kick back in the shade. They brought airplanes, but weren't too keen on the parade queen part of the show.

All kidding aside, the Washtucna folks really went out of their way to make the day extremely fun and show those who attended what community spirit is all about.  The flight demonstrations were exciting in a confined space, food was great, the crowd was interested and hospitality was spectacular.  Attending were Ron "Chief" McMahan, Frank Hirsch, Boyd Petty, Greg McFadden, Rich Roland, John Hanson, Jr. Kinniman, and Rob Opgenorth.  Hope I didn't forget anyone.

The Washtucna folks sent the following e-mail:

We would like to thank you from the bottom of our spinners to the tip of our taillights  for taking the time to come up to our little town  and joining in on the festivities.   You guys are a lot of fun to be around.  We truly enjoyed seeing your planes and helicopters.  what a fabulous show.  I'm sure we  won't have any trouble getting a bus load of kids, including myself to make the trip down your way.  Thanks so much for the invitation.
