PYLON RACING

Go fast (kinda) and turn left

Because many people have expressed an interest in racing, we have tried to develop a race program that provides an airplane that will be easy to build (4 to 5 hrs. ), be easy to fly, even for beginners (we estimate 35 mph ), and not require an installment plan to finance ($60 - $70 including the engine, and not counting the radio ). We think we have done that with the "DOWNSPOUT."

The plane requirements are:

Motor: must be .10 Cu. in or smaller with plain bearing or .09 or smaller with ball bearings. The motor must have throttle control (that is in use) and have a sport muffler (no tuned pipes). The prop must be min. 7"

Wing: must be the 510 molded Styrofoam wing HRPFC500. The wing must be unaltered in it’s shape and dimensions.

Fuselage: must be made from plastic downspout with ID. no less than 2 1/4" and be no less than 8 1/2" long. Measured at the shortest side. Landing gear: must be conventional (taildragger) or tricycle, with wheels no less than 2" Wa.

Radio: must be min. 3 ch. (elev. rud. thro.) using standard size servos or larger

There are no requirements on the tank, the horizontal and vertical stabs, the length of the fuselage boom sticks, or the dimensions of the landing gear.

Anyone who thinks they might be interested in joining the fun, please contact Gordon Anderson or Bill Greger and we will be glad to help you get started.
