SEPT'01 PRESIDENT's CORNER

By Gordon Anderson

My column this month will be a bit short. Its been busy around my house the last couple of weeks!

First, the gates! I found the inner gate open again with the lock left open, in fact the lock was lying on the ground. I have addressed the membership about this issue at least three times. It is absolutely imperative that we manage these gates. The next time I find this problem I will change the lock combinations and only release the new combination on request, after we discuss the details of proper gate management. This may seem harsh but we do not seem to be getting any better.

The pattern contest season is over and I will have more time to devote to club business. We have a few projects we need to finish and I will be scheduling a few work parties. Please help out if you can, the more volunteers we get the faster we can finish the projects.

Please let me know as soon as possible if you cannot mow on your assigned day, I will find an alternate but the more time I have the better. The mow teams have been doing very well but we have had a couple of no shows. Please check the schedule to remind yourself of your scheduled date. There are only a few mow weeks left in this season. The watering problems seem to be solved and the field is looking great, so go to the field and enjoy a day of flying!
