PRESIDENT's CORNER

The season is winding down and the weather is cooling off! This means the water will be turned off soon. We need to be very careful with the grass, please use your overflow bottles to keep raw fuel off the grass when you fill your fuel tank and also try and set up in different places when you go to the field.
The mowing schedule is over and we will need to mow the field as needed. If it looks like it needs it and you can’t do it, please give me a call and I’ll get it done. The mowing will be over soon!
We are going to make a few changes at the field. As you know we are going to erect a flagpole, thanks to the efforts of Ted Tanasse. In an effort to improve the image of the field, we are building a rack to hold the carpet pieces (that are now stored on the fence). This rack will be behind the shed. This project will be finished very soon, so please use this new rack. All of the spools have been moved east of the shed and we would like you to store the spools in this location from this point forward. These efforts are all intended to improve the image of our field.
We need to nominate officers at the next club meeting so please think about whom you would like to lead the club in 2002. Please approach the person you intend to nominate and make sure he/she agrees before you nominate them! We will vote the new leadership in at the November meeting. Only two meetings left in 2001! This year flew by!
At our last club meeting Bill Bowen gave a great talk on the proper use of rudder. We will try to find a topic of interest to discuss at the next meeting. Bill’s talk was a hit and I would like to thank him again for his effort. If you have anything you would like to share please bring it to the club meeting, we love to look at works in progress and see those new creations!
