MAY '99
PRESIDENT's CORNER
By Ron Gibby
At our next meeting on May 19 , 1999, Bill Bowen will be presenting the first update of the Clubs Five Year Plan for review and comment. This plan establishes Club priorities for site improvements and sets the operation and maintenance budgets for the current year and for the year 2000. If there are no comments that require further revision to the Plan we will also vote for its acceptance at the meeting. Please attend and share your thoughts on how club money should be spent.
If youve been to the ORV Park site lately, you will notice we have a new shed for storage of our mowers and other club equipment. After Larry Mitchell took the lead and got the cement base poured Lee Brooks stepped up to lead the construction of the shed. Actually, Lee did a large portion of the construction himself. (Ask him how many sheet metal screws and nuts and bolts it took to finish the job. I saw at least two large plastic bags filled with an assortment of small fastening devices.) Thanks Lee and Larry! ....and all of you that helped them. Now we can move onto our next project, running electrical wires about 200 feet to our ORV park site so we can have electrical power available inside the fence. Any volunteers?
Thanks to Bill Greger who planned and directed another successful Fun Fly that was held on May 8, 1999. I understand someone from the Yakima area beat out our own Chief McMahan for first place. Hey Chief, theres nothing shabby about being the first loser!
