May 2002 PRESIDENT's CORNER
By Gordon Anderson

Thanks to Dave Phipps for running the April meeting for me, I was in the San Diego area on business.

Congratulations to Dave Phipps for winning the door prize and special thank you to Monty for donating the park-flier kit for the door prize.

The revised rules, that were printed in the last newsletter, were approved at the April meeting and will be posted at the field, this brings our rules up to date. We will be working on the bylaws to bring them up to the AMA requirements. We will present the revisions at the next club meeting for discussion and approval.

The field is looking pretty good and its starting to green up! We still have a few brown spots so if you see an area that could use a little extra water feel free to set the manual sprinklers. The city has a new person, Val, responsible for the water at the ORV field and he is doing an excellent job of taking care of our field. If you see any problems or have any concerns regarding the field please contact Dave Phipps, he is managing the field for us. Thanks Dave!

There are several spots open for mowing, please sign up if you can help out. You can select a date using the online sign up system Steve has put into place, visit and select the mowing schedule option. If you have any trouble with the mowers please let Dave Phipps, Doug Larson, or myself know and we will get the problems solved.

Steve Sterling has a video on the history of RC that he will bring to the next club meeting, this should be fun so make sure and attend. I will also bring the raffle biplane and will be selling tickets. Make sure and buy tickets for this beautiful bird!

We have a couple of active students so if you are an instructor and you see them at the field please give them a hand. That's it for this month, hope to see you at the field!
