MAY
'01 PRESIDENT's CORNER
By Gordon Anderson
The mowing season has begun! Check the mow
schedule on our web site. If you are unable to mow on your assigned date contact
myself or one of the club officers and we will insure that the field is ready
for the weekend fun! Please remember to make sure the spools are not setting
face down on the field when you finish using them, this will kill the grass in a
very short amount of time. Also, please use an overflow bottle when filling your
fuel tank, keeping the raw fuel off the grass!
Thanks to those who came out to our first work party of the season, it was a
raining day but we did get the trash hauled off. I have the paint supplies we
will need for the next work party. Please plan to attend the next work party,
May 5th. We will paint the shade structure and the sprinkler risers.
I have purchased a first aid kit and its in the shed, I will place it on the
frequency board after we finish painting. Please be careful when starting and
tuning your engines, the prop is like a saw blade and it can do a lot of damage
in a few milliseconds!
I met a couple of guys at the field last month and they are starting a RC web
site. The address is http://www.rchobbylistings.com. This web site is a listing
service to allow you to sell or buy RC goodies, check it out!
I have been approached by several people regarding our dog policy at the ORV
field. I have been told we have a leash rule and also that we have a no dogs
allowed policy. I canšt find any written rules or notes about this so we will
address this issue at the next club meeting. I would like us to come up with a
rule we can all live with and make it part of our written field rules. Attend
the meeting and make sure your opinions are heard to help us resolve this issue.
The helicopter issue remains unresolved, we need a representative at a club
meeting before the club rules can be changed, so the current rule is still in
force. No helicopter flying while aircraft are flying, and we will give fair
flying opportunities to the helicopter pilots.
See you at the field!
