JUNE '99 PRESIDENT's CORNER
By Ron Gibby

Bill Greger called me the other day to say that the date has been set for our annual activity day for the Tri-Cities Associations for Retarded Citizens (ARC). We will entertain them on Wednesday, July 7, 1999 at the Richland ORV Park flying site. Although the exact time for the activity has not been established, it will likely begin midmorning and continue through early afternoon. This was a very successful activity last year. The children seemed to enjoy the activities planned for them (especially flying the planes), the club members who participated thought it was a great event, and the club received a nice cash award from the RC Hobby and Trade Association for the media coverage that we received from the local TV stations. Since it will be a midweek, daytime activity please make your plans now so you can join with us this year. We expect as many as 50 children at one time so we can use everyone that is available. I want to thank Bill Greger for the effort he puts into organizing and coordinating this worthwhile event each year.

Dave Turner from the Mount Rainier Radio Control Club had nothing but good words about our Fun Fly last month. He wrote in their newsletter that he liked our field and he thought Bill Greger did a great job in planning the contest activities. Way to go, Bill. I’m sure that attendance at our events will continue to increase as the word gets around.

I signed a new agreement with the City of Richland last month so the ORV Park flying field will be available for another five years. Until next month, happy flying.
