Field Report
Reminder----The field gates are to be kept locked on Thursdays and Fridays and on all other days before 800 hrs.

The grass runway is needing to be rolled. Arrangements will be made to do this in the spring before the next serious flying season starts.

Report of possible cut fence was checked on a verified by the club secretary. Repairs will be made soon. Alignment of the small gate was reported to need some adjustment.

Bird control was suggested to keep the local pigeons from making the shade shelter into a unsightly mess.

Difficulty disengaging the blades of the runway mower was reported. Some lubricant was subsequently applied which seems to have remedied the condition.

Event Reports
The Big Float Fly and Chili Feed Event, held September 15th, was very successful. Good weather and no equipment failure. Rich Roland and Glenn Ball were great supporters of this event and are appreciated by all who attended.

Biplane fly-in was very successful, the weather was good and there was a net club profit of $50. John Hansen was the CD and did a great job. John announced his retirement from contest director duties. The club secretary has the rule book and forms for anyone interested in pursuing contest director opportunities. We will need a new CD for next year’s event. CD opportunity includes a free annual club membership.

Sprint Boat Event RC flying demonstration was done by Rich Roland on September 2nd, thanks Rich.

TCRCM Final Fling Event is coming Oct 13th, get your planes ready. The MAA is holding their Indian Summer Jamboree Oct 6-8.

New Business
Us against Us fly is proposed, no date yet.

Carpet storage rack behind the mower shed is proposed to get the carpet pieces off the fence, get them out of sight and keep them dry.

A motion to donate to MAA $150 toward helping them recover from the fire losses last year was introduced and discussed. The motion was approved.

Club officer renewal is regularly scheduled for November and nominations will be discussed at the October meeting.

Old Business
Club House Improvement Project; the association decided that they really didn’t want any clubhouse improvements. We discussed sending them a letter or some other means of expressing our appreciation for the use of the facility. Field parking lot fence proposal recently presented by Val Ballard and approved by the club has also been approved by the city. Implementation of that improvement is planned for the coming months.

A flag pole installation proposal was made by Ted Tanasse. Ted provided some cost data and information about poles and flags. A motion was made and approved to purchase a flag pole and a flag. Subsequent discussion lead to the concept of making a scale sketch of the proposal to review balance and proportions before proceeding with the purchase.

Instructor Program
Bill Bowen provided a short presentation about use of rudder. He also included some information about engine use and tuning. Very useful information and well presented. Bill had handouts for the club meeting. Electronic copies of the handout are available from Bill Bowen. It was voiced at the meeting that it would be nice to have these handouts on our Web site as well.

Door Prize Drawing
Everyone in attendance entered the drawing. Prizes were distributed by random drawing from the ticket container. Meeting was adjourned at 2025 hours.

Show-N-Tell
Jerry Wallis brought his SIG Somethin’ Extra to show the club members. Looks good Jerry.
