MEETING MINUTES
By Bob McDougall
November 1998 Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 7:03PM by President Ron Gibby with approximately 17 members and guests present.

The previous meeting’s Minutes were approved as published. Clee Childress then gave a current Treasurer’s report.

OLD BUSINESS:

Dennis Cone announced that he would not be able to coordinate the construction of the ORV site storage shed. Discussion followed regarding a temporary storage location for the shed kit boxes, since construction will probably not begin until next spring, and Larry Miller has other plans for his snowmobile trailer which is currently housing the shed components. Lyle Laughery will follow up.

Lyle then gave a brief report on the ‘99 TCRCM events schedule, which will be formalized at or before the ‘99 Puyallup Expo. A brief discussion followed regarding the intent to combine the two Floast Fly events into a single two-day event (to improve attendance from other clubs). A better site for the Float Fly is being investigated, due to the inability to maintain a clear flying area at the Leslie Groves site.

The ORV site safety barrier has been relocated, thanks to the efforts of Terry Hane, Fred Fisher, Rob Opgenorth, and Ron McMahan.

Ron reminded all of the ‘99 Puyallup Expo on February 6-7th; Larry Miller recommended that the Club again raffle a Futaba RC system. Larry also asked for volunteers at our booth for the Saturday portion of the Expo.

NEW BUSINESS:

Additional nominations were accepted for the ‘99 Officers’ election, following which the various candidates were voted on. (Ed. Note: the results of the election appear on Page 1 of this issue)

Brief discussions followed regarding AMA renewal, possible interference from cellular phones, and future coordination with RC-oriented events at the HAMMER site.

Ron reminded all that there is no regular December meeting, and that the next meeting will be the Installation/Awards banquet in January. (Ed. Note: Details elsewhere in this issue..)

The meeting adjourned at 7:55PM.
