MARCH '01 MEETING MINUTES
By Doug Larson

The monthly meeting of TCRCM was called to order by President Gordon Anderson at 1900 hrs. The minutes of the previous meeting were offered for corrections but none given and were subsequently approved as published in "The Leading Edge" newsletter. A treasury report was given by Treasurer Rick Magnuson who also indicated current club membership is 71 members.

A brief report of the Spokane swap meet was given indicating good attendance and good deals on airplanes.

Field Report

The city is happy with our usage and care of the flying field as reported by President Gordon Anderson. Member Terry Hane reviewed some tasks that could be done to make improvements e.g. putting sod around the shade shelter posts, painting the exposed wood, painting the sprinkler posts and cleaning up excess wood and debris. Volunteers to do those tasks were noted.

John Hanson reported the Spokane Model Show was well attended by area clubs.

New Business

The revised five year plan was presented by Bill Bowen, chairman of the 5 year plan committee. It is included in itıs entirety following these minutes.

The mowers have been serviced for the season and the mowing schedule is forthcoming. There was some discussion about helicopter flying and means to accommodate such. Various concepts were discussed e.g. hover practice areas, flying times etc. Since there was inadequate representation of helicopter interests it was decided to table the issue until the next meeting.

A suggestion for using a spotter for each pilot if there is concurrent helicopter and airplane flights was made by Bill Bowen. There was some minor discussion about radio channel courtesy at the field. A couple of recent incidents indicate that it may be helpful to have a sign in a prominent place reminding users that the channel tag must be obtained before transmitting. This could be especially helpful to new members, students, visitors etc. and insurance for other users at the field. If you are having any radio frequency disturbances out at the field, please contact our president, Gordon Anderson at 588-5410.

Old Business

Clubhouse improvement project was discussed to install a wheel chair ramp. All season patches were discussed. Next club meeting is planned for distribution of all season patches. Anyone qualifying for a patch for year 2000 needs to call Jerry Wallis 967-5046, especially if attendance at the meeting is uncertain. There was some discussion that the club purchase of all season patches would discontinue after this year. Anyone wanting a patch in future years can obtain their own from AMA. Further discussion at the next meeting. The ORV park is closed Thursdays and Fridays so remember to keep the second gate closed and locked if you are using the field.
