JUNE '99 MEETING MINUTES
By Jerry Wallis

(Standing in for the Secretary Don Magnuson was Jerry Wallis.)

President Ron Gibby called meeting to order at 6:55 PM.

OLD BUSINESS

Minutes were approved as printed in the newsletter with the following exceptions: Bill Bowen’s name was spelled wrong. Sorry, Bill and Brett.

Monty put up the Safety and field rules and the club owes him a big thank you.

The Big Bird event was a success at least on Saturday even though it was windy. It was pointed out that there needs to be closer attention to the readiness of the field. The Garbage can and the portapotty needed to be emptied.

Bill Bowen did great at the pattern meet along with his son. Congratulations to you both for a good job of representing our club.

TheTCRCM Pattern meet will occur on July 10th and 11th. The field will be closed the preceding Friday at noon.

There was a discussion about bringing electric power to the field. After much discussion Bill Bowen will draft a letter to the city about what we can do and expect.

ARC Day on the 7th of July was discussed and Bill Bowen had put together a press release for the paper and other news groups. It will be from 11am till 2:30pm. All those that can help please contact bill Greger. Again thanks to every one named Bill in our club for the work you all do.

Hammer Robotics contest will occur this Wednesday through Friday and the frequency pins will be pulled for those frequencies that are being used at Hammer.

NEW BUSINESS

The storage shed door has stops to prevent flopping around on windy days, so be careful when operating tractors. It was proposed to put a warning sign in the shed and a 4x4 at the end of the shed. The vote did not pass; most felt it was better to wait until the shelves are installed.

It was mentioned we need 2 8-foot tables for the Pattern contest. It was felt we could purchase these at Hanford Excess Sales. Dennis was going to ask Barry Peters to see if we could get them for less. Meanwhile club members are to look around and please contact Ron Gibby before buying any thing.

The Boy Scouts of America contacted us about doing a demo to for them. Anyone that would like to know more please get involved.

It was mentioned to have a Field Marshall at the field for all events, and if the Field Marshall could not be there, to appoint one. There were some contestants that needed extra instructions.

The meeting adjoined at 8:10 PM.
