MEETING
MINUTES
By Jerry Wallis
July '98
President Ron Gibby called meeting to order at 7pm. The minutes were approved as printed in the newsletter. Clee Childress read the treasurers report.
Old Business
It was brought up again about checking the gate each time you leave to make sure the lock has been spun and is locked. This is very important! We can get into trouble if the gate is found unlocked when the park is supposed to be closed. This means all three gates. The Club has purchased another lock for the gates. That is about $50.00 so far this year.
Bill Greger did a great job with the ARC event. This was a strong group effort and to all those who helped a very big THANK YOU.
Monty Stratton did a package to submit to RCHTA for a possible cash reward. The exposure that this gave us is good for the sport of Model Aviation. Next we need a write-up for Ed McCullough in the AMA news.
Barry Peters Okd the storage shed. Now we just need a letter of intent to get it on the record.
Larry Mitchell purchased 8 chairs for the club. We have been short and this should be of some help.
New Business
To drive on the grass or not to drive on the grass was the question of the day. It was voted that there would be no one driving on the grass without the express permission of the President. We will make exceptions for the handicapped and the event trailer or motor home.
The gate is to be used for loading and unloading only and no vehicle should block others from access to the field.
A new meeting place is to be found for next year. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Get in touch with any officers with any information.
John Hanson will need some help in August for the Biplane event. Get in touch with him to show your support for this great sport.
In our search for a new location for the float fly, Bill Greger found a good site that he and others are looking into. George sent a letter to the Corp of Engineers and found out we need a $50 permit and a porta potty.
Larry Mitchell moved the cabana to the middle of the field to get more use. Let us know if this works out.
Wooden spools are getting shaky and losing some parts. Do not throw away extra parts as we can use them.
Larry will not purchase storage shed until we have firm commitment form someone to head up the project. Larry also volunteered to lend a trailer for storage while shed is being built.
The officers in the club need to understand their responsibility. Some things cannot be delegated to others.
