MEETING
MINUTES
Aug.98 Meeting
By Jerry Wallis
The meeting was called to
order by President Ron Gibby at 7:01pm on August 19th, 1998.
OLD BUSINESS
John Hanson did the bulk of work on RCHTA and we got a $500 cash award for his efforts. Thanks John and all those who lent a helping hand.
The new storage building will be at ORV site this Wednesday and the cost is $1130. We need much help with this project so schedule a bit of time for the club. Ron will check with Bob Pratt to find out if he can head up this important task..
The canopy was moved again. It is now closer to where it can be used by more flyers. Let us know how this works out!
NEW BUSINESS
Val from the ORV staff has helped us out a lot and we need to let him know how much this is appreciated.
We need a committee for event planing for the next year. Bill Greger is to head up the special events committee.
The Club Safety and Field rules are already in place and were read by President Ron Gibby. These will be published for review in the next newsletter and will be voted on next meeting. Jerry Wallis is to go through the minutes and find out if we adopted any of these or just let them be guidelines.
Ron McMahan ordered Safety rules for the Finley site.
Recently, the Hammer Facility was where they conducted the Aerial Robotics competition. There were reports that they did not have any frequency control. This was a major problem to those who flew and got hit by interference because of the proximity of the Hammer facility to our ORV site. We need to talk to the promoters about letting us know what frequencies they are using to avoid conflicts with our flying.
The meeting was adjourned around 8pm.
