Aug. '00 MEETING MINUTES

President Ron Gibby called the meeting to order with 13 members present.

President Ron thanked to Bill Greger for leading the ARC event and to all the members who helped out making the event another success. Bill passed around a nice letter from the ARC organization giving its appreciation to our Club for again putting on the event. Thanks were also given to Gordon Anderson, Bill & Brett Bowen, Lee Brooks, Leon Fleming, Terry Hane, Allen Hare, Gary Jones, Rick Magnuson, Bob Matlock, Larry Mitchell, Ted Meier, Monty Stratton, Barry Turnbull, George Vargo and Jerry Wallis for participating in the Tri-Cities Air Show.

The July meeting minutes was approved as published in The Leading Edge.

The Treasurer gave his report. The Club’s finances are in good shape. A corn cooker was a purchased made in conjunction with the recent pattern contest.

John Hanson talked about preparations for the upcoming Biplane Fly-In. This will be a two-day event with an optional touch-n-go contest.

The Club received some left over fuel from the recent college remote vehicle event at the HAMMER facility. It was offered to flyers to use at the ARC event. A gallon of helicopter fuel, 15% nitro and 20% oil, was not used. After some discussion on what to do with the fuel, Doug Larson made a successful bid for the fuel with the proceeds going into the Club’s general fund.

Swede Carlson, Emeritus member, made a donation to the Club. Thanks Swede!

President Gibby, reminder regular members to be on the outlook for other former Club members that qualify for Emeritus membership and would enjoy keeping ties with the Club.
