APRIL
'01 MEETING MINUTES
By Doug Larson
Held at Country Squire Clubhouse, April 18, 2001
The monthly meeting of TCRCM was called to order by President Gordon Anderson at 1900 hrs. The minutes of the previous meeting were offered for corrections but none given and were subsequently approved as published in "The Leading Edge" newsletter. Treasurer Rick Magnuson gave a treasury report. Treasurer, Rick Magnuson also reported that current club membership had increased from 71 members last month to 75 members this month.
New Members New members were introduced e.g. Dale Kern and Ted Curran, welcome Dale and Ted.
Field Report Some of the projects discussed last month were done but others were postponed because of weather. The sod around the shelter posts was done and the excess spool debris was disposed of. The painting party is pending, probably about 1st of May. The water is on but seems a little irregular. Mowing started April 13th.
New Business Club jackets were discussed and it was determined that there was not enough interest to pursue at this meeting. A first aid kit is to be purchased and kept at the field. Update, first aid kit is now in the shed. ARC event dates were discussed and Aug 3rd chosen for this season. Suggestion entertained for a storage shelf to be installed in the storage shed. Doug Larson volunteered to install a shelf. There are three spare locks in the shed to use if one in service fails to secure properly. A RC basic flight manual authored by Jerry Wallis will be made available for review via listbot. More instructors are needed for students. The club secretary will work on a new member packet. If anyone knows of a training manual that would be appropriate for a new member packet please contact the club secretary. Reminder to store wire spools on edge to allow the grass to have sunlight and water. Water at the hose bib faucets is sanitary.
Old Business A proposal for helicopter flight was listed in the agenda. The proposal was not discussed at this meeting because there were no helicopter pilots present. Encourage some representation of helicopter pilots to attend the next meeting.
All season patches were distributed by Vice President Jerry Wallis to Monty Stratton, Gordon Anderson and Rick Magnuson. The desirability of continuing the all season patch was discussed. A motion was presented to discontinue the program and the motion was carried.
