MINUTES
By Bob McDougall for Jerry Wallis
September 1998 Meeting
(Editors Note: Jerry Wallis was absent, so any errors or omissions in the following Minutes are mine, not Jerrys)
The meeting was called to order by President Ron Gibby at 6:55 PM on September 16th, 1998, with approximately 21 members and guests present.
OLD BUSINESS
Several guests and prospective new members introduced themselves. Clee Childress then gave the Treasurers report.
Ron Gibby noted that one of our members, Frank HIrsch, is recovering from a serious heart problem.
Dennis Cone reported on the upcoming TCRCM Pattern contest on Sept. 19-20. Dennis asked for volunteers to help with the food preparation duties, and also noted that the field would be closed starting at noon on Friday before the contest to provide ample practice time for the Pattern entrants.
Bill Bowen noted that the storage shed kit has arrived; it will be temporarily stored in Larry Mitchells snowmobile trailer until the foundation is ready for assembly of the shed itself.
Ron opened the floor to comments on the Field & Safety Rules as published in last months Newsletter. Minor corrections were proposed, and the rules will be voted on at a future meeting. The Club By-Laws will also be published for review in the near future, since it appears that a minor change may be required to formally validate the Field & Safety rules.
NEW BUSINESS
A brief review on field safety was held, particularly the potential dangers of flying alone.
The Clubs policy on TCRCM and AMA membership renewals was discussed.
George Vargo announced that preparation for the October 3rd Float fly is on schedule.
Several members attended the Moses Lake Fun Fly, which was won by an electric RC model.
Brett Bowen took 1st place in Novice Pattern at Creswell, Oregon and established a new high score record. Brett also took 2nd at Seattle.
The meeting adjourned at 8:10 PM.
