May 2000 Fun Fly
The day started out with a 20 kt wind across the runway. After a vote of the group, the start was delayed to 10am to see if the wind would calm. By 10am it was down to 10kts, and the group voted to go ahead.

| The first event was a 6 stunt series, with a ground based balloon break in the middle. First up was Glen Ball, who demonstrated the proper technique of removing landing gear. Chief McMahan demonstrated that a high speed low pass to pop a balloon stuck to the runway in a 10 kt wind was rough on equipment and not a winning strategy. After that, the rest settled down, landed first, taxied over to the balloon and gave it it's due. With the wind still gusting pretty good, Larry Mitchell's craft got flipped around on a landing and was demolished. Wise man as Larry is, he had brought a spare. |

With the wind it was "hold 'em down" until takeoff. |

In a smart decision for the day, this one didn't fly. |

Roy Lytle from Walla Walla had a large Telemaster (??) that would leap off the ground. |
