September Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order at 7 pm in Rosie's Diner.
Members attending were seven (7). We had zero visitors.

Treasure's Report- None submitted.

Field Maintenance

Doug Larson replaced two ss pop-ups.

Old Business

Bill Bowen called Royal Columbian about program; no answer.

New Business

Pattern Meet is a major event for the club. Any help would be be welcome. Various jobs include signing up and taking money from contestants, helping with lunch and running score sheets.
The CD Dennis Cone will be out to the field on Thursday to start setting up the field. This includes mowing, weeding and setting box lines.
Steve and Linda Sterling will be hosting the dinner at the field.
Discussed details of shutting off sprinklers night before and back on next day.
Runway landing are difficult with not being able to see edge of overfly. Temporary fix of painting lines for pattern meet will be done by Sterlings.

New Business

The lastest news about site in Columbia Park was reported by Bill Bowen. In a telephone conversation with Tony of the AMA, the AMA guidelines were reviewed.
If the AMA guidelines are followed, then prevent accidents. Some problems are a non-controlled runway with no pattern and no spotters. These guidelines will be sent to the City of Kennewick.

Safety guidelines that relate to the main site include non-testing tables being 30 feet from field and a more defined spectator pit. How to establish this pit was discussed, no motions. Generally agreed to move non-testing picnic tables back from runway.

Five year Plan

Rebuild of pump is a major job. Problems(it's heavy and cramped location) and possible solutions(divide pump in parts) reviewed.

Rebuild of sprinkler guns is due. The o-ring cost $50. Entire unit $500.

Testing tables are breaking - need replacedment.

Fencing along runway should be lifted, work party next spring.
