March 2008 Meeting

Meeting called to order March 19,2008 at 7:05 pm in the conference room, Benton County PUD.

Field Report Maintenance and Activity

Spring weather has brought increased activity.

Stands- New stands are being used. Suggestion from meet-ing to modify one stand for use of a smaller-size 40 plane. Bill Bowen may bid on Fluor excess tables. The platform tables on the fence line are getting used.

Question to members from President Doug as to whether placement on fence presenting any problems. Members re-sponded that tables were no problems. Doug will make a smaller one.

Hand sanitizer- Bill Bowen installed in the port-o-potty. Four refills are in shed. Bill to be submitted.

Shed- Doug organized the shed.

Boost pump- seal kit not installed. Delay caused by weight of pump mandates two person job.HRMC indicated payment of half seal cost.

Water- Sanitary water is on. Doug fixed sprinkler heads. All circuits tested and fixed as needed. Runway sprinklers set to water each night.
Mowers- still need servicing. 10 oil filters purchased on ebay in shed.

Gate lock- Lock and chain disappeared and was replaced. (Note: lock chain to fence when open

Garbage and fuel cans to be added to mowing duty.

Old Business
Business cards-no report

Sign posting- No trespassing signs at safety boundary have been purchased, to be installed.

Low flying aircraft warning signs and gate sign members only were posted.

Helicopter activity- Discussion of strategy of different styles of flying conflict. Some members are in conflict of field rules of where and how to fly. This is causing loss of membership. Bill Bowen to write letter to newsletter on field edict. Gordon Anderson to send Doug a copy of the 2002 field rules agree-ment. These rules will be posted on the bulletin board. AMA guidelines for safety are followed at the field. Discussion of respect verses the need for constant field marshal power.

Two City Park Partnership packages turned in.

Road maintenance is responsibility of HRMC. Cooperation is expected. Excess cyclone fence from city possible solution to boundary enforcement.

New Business
Bill Bowen moved and it was seconded , passed, for use of field for Pattern Primer April 26th

Community service event suggested such as Parent-Child day. Executive to do details.

General interest idea was size 40 electric, Electra Star, for trainer for student Phil, instructor Steve.
