ARC Day and Misc Topics

Thanks to all those who came and helped with the ARC today plus did mowing yesterday etc. to prepare for it. I call it another success!

Too bad someone didn't get some video of the lunch shelter getting blown by the wind and rolling over into the parking lot then on over the Dial-a-ride van and landing next to an automobile. I think it rolled over three times. As far as we can tell nothing was damaged. It all happened so fast no one could do a thing with it.

The grass is looking really good for this time of year. I tested the big sprinklers tonight and they came on fine and at about 75 psi which is a little lower than I expected so I checked the pump house and the pump was running with a discharge pressure of 125 psi and suction of about 55 psi. It seems like losing 50 psi going up the hill from the pump is not right but there was not any water coming out of the lower jeep track heads and no apparent leaks so???? Maybe the gauge at the head by the driveway isn't accurate.

Seems like the runway grass isn't as vigorous as it should be, have we ever fertilized it in midsummer? Don't know if we should or not. Any thoughts?

I hauled off three big bags of trash tonight but didn't put bags in the cans because they were kind of wet and should probably dry out. Maybe someone can put bags in tomorrow.
