Next Club Meeting Feb 15th, 7pm at Rosie's Diner. 404 Bradley Blvd, Richland just off Geo. Wash Way. We need your participation in steering the club through 2012.
Well, my goal in RC, for the last 3 years, is to develop skills in building scale planes. I am, by far, most interested in WW I planes. Since I had no inherant ability in building planes, I started out by building trainers and planes that would help me develop flying skills. I finally broke into the real stuff. I' m building an Eindecker III. It has an 80" wing span and is powered by an OS 61. I hope to have it finished by this summer. There is a WW I plane event in Moses lake, and I'd like to cut my teeth there.
As far is other events, I get all my information, so far from this site.
My next scale plane will be a SE 5A. We'll see how I do on biplanes. I'm not interested in perfection, but if my skills continue to improve I will stay on course. If anythig, I have plenty of tenacity to keep me going.
looked in the AMA list of events. Didn't find any scale events on this side of the state and only one on the wet side. maybe not many have been registered with ama yet. does your club have any scale anything.
I am in Ephrata but don't know anyone up here. just moved.
The Moses Lake RC Modelers will host the following invitational (AMA Sanctioned) RC flying events in 2010:
>Electric Power Fly-In- June 12th (with 13th open flying)
>“Dawn Patrol” (WWI planes)- July 16-18
>Casey McKay Memorial Fun Fly- September 11th (with 12th open flying)
Announcements with details will be sent at a later date. If you have questions before the announcements are sent, however, contact Jim Tabor, jtabor@homenetnw.net , (509) 765-1073
In addition to the sanctioned events, guest pilots are welcome at our flying site (AMA membership is required to fly at the club site).
